Supporting the environment
I’m keen to support UK industry so the printers, fulfilment service and paper merchants are based in Kent. The print presses are carbon neutral and the print warehouse is solar powered. Plastic bottles are banned from the office! The envelopes are made at a Yorkshire mill. They match the cards and are 150gsm, which give a feel of luxury. The paper stock is FSC-accredited and carries the ISO 9706 ‘long life’ certification.
The waste is recycled, composted at home or incinerated at a nearby steam power station which generates electricity for the local area. The used printer ink cartridges are recycled at Empties Please Ltd.
Most of the packaging is recyclable and biodegradable, from the Jiffy bags, cello bags to the waterproof mailers.
From January 2021, multiple cards purchased in a single order will be packed in units in a single cello bag.
From Spring 2022, all the greeting cards, notecards and postcards will be packed in biodegradable cello bags.
I believe it’s possible to combine beautiful products with sustainability, and I’m proud to say my work is made in England.
