Following the loss of a highly stressful design job, Gabrielle decided to follow her dream and set up a business doing what she loves best - designing stationery, creating artwork and making gifts.
She produces the work by hand using traditional methods of illustration, lettering and modern calligraphy; Japanese reed pens, dip pens, brushes, inks, water colour paints and papers.
The theme of love and friendship play a big part in Gabrielle's work. Many of the designs feature messages of love, celebration and appreciation. Old books, Jane Austen's sparkling wit and 1950s designs have inspired her designs.
Gabrielle is keen to support UK industry so all the print and production is done in Kent, and the envelopes are made at a Yorkshire mill. They match the cards and are 150gsm which give a feel of luxury. The card stock is FSC accredited and carries the ISO 9706 ‘long life’ certification.
The paper waste is recycled or composted. The other waste is recycled at a local steam power station which generates electricity for the local area.
Time is taken to create the work, so it's s a real labour of love. Gabrielle endeavours to produce original and beautiful pieces that people love to give and receive. She's proud to say her work is made in England!
